Earth Science.

  • 1 - What do you think the global average temperature is?  This means the average for everywhere on Earth, day and night, for an entire year.  Explain why you answered what you did.
I think the global temperature is about 75 or 76 degrees. I think that because a lot of the Earth is warmer than what our temperatures are, and I was thinking that if you averaged all of the global temperatures together you would get something relatively close to 75 or 76 degrees.
  • 2 - People are often talking about "global warming."  How much do you think the average global temperature has increased in the past 100 years?  Do you think that this is a lot?
I think it has increased quite a bit because we have made more advances in technology, thus causing more manufacturing which causes more pollution. The more pollution you have the higher the temperature gets.
  • 3 - What do you think is the hottest the Earth has ever been? (since there has been an atmosphere?)  How about the coldest the Earth has ever been?  Explain why you answered what you did.
I think the hottest Earth has been is now because of all the pollution and the coldest is probably the Ice Age, because everything was frozen.
  • 4 - Are you concerned about "global warming?"  Why or why not?
I am because if the Earth gets so polluted that we can't do anything about it, we are done for, but we can still fix it if there is time, we just have to make sure we don't pollute as much as we do now. I think that if people realized how much of an effect global warming has on us they will be genuinely concerned about it, like I am.
